Learning Outcomes : Upon successful completion of the course, students will acquire specific knowledge, skills, and abilities, regarding: • selection of appropriate materials for the needs of each project, based on criteria of durability, compatibility, and techno-economic parameters • design of materials with appropriate properties to meet project specifications, with appropriate quality requirements • characterization of materials in existing structures and installations, using analytical and non-destructive testing at laboratory and on-site scale • understanding the impact of environmental loads on the design, physicochemical behavior, and protection of materials.
