The aim of the course is to introduce students to the basic concepts and phenomena that govern the nano-scale. Emphasis is placed on the categorization of materials, based on their properties and on their characterization by advanced techniques. The course is highly lab-based and focuses on nanomaterial synthesis methods, taking into account current applications and social implications.
