Learning Outcomes : The course material aims to provide the basic knowledge that the student should acquire regarding satellite communications systems. Specifically, the student acquires knowledge in the following sub-topics:
Geometrical consideration of telecommunications satellite movement, the satellite channel, assembly and subsystems of telecommunications satellites, multiple access in satellite communications, coding of satellite signals, architectures of satellite communications networks, atmospheric propagation phenomena affecting satellite links and countermeasures, availability and reliability of satellite links, the DVB-S2 standard, acceptance control of connections in satellite communications, TCP transmissions via satellite.
