The aim of this course is for students to gain a realistic understanding of how key management concepts are applied to real-world problems, by using a modern simulation environment to apply principles of management and decision-making. Participants, working in groups of 4–5, take over the management of a newly established company that produces and sells computers, and are assigned managerial roles corresponding to its functions (general management, production, sales, marketing, financial management). Within this framework, they are tasked with drafting and implementing a complete business plan, in order to understand how the company’s functions are combined and interact, as well as the impact of competition, which requires continuous analysis of conditions and decision-making at both tactical and operational levels.
In addition, lectures are held that delve into important issues of strategic management and business planning, as well as the management of the individual functions of a company. Particular emphasis is placed on presenting real-world examples drawn from well-known businesses and organizations.
