The most common Composite Materials are presented and analyzed. The course focuses mainly on the analysis of fiber-reinforced polymer laminates with orthotropic, conditionally orthotropic or fully anisotropic behavior.
The course includes the following parts:
1) Theoretical part: Presentation of the basic elements of the mechanical behavior of composite materials.
2) Experimental part: Testing of elements from composite materials and evaluation of the reinforcement of steel cross-sections with composite materials in the laboratory of the Institute of Steel Structures.
3) Computational part: Numerical modeling of simple structural systems from composite materials in finite element software.
