The aim of the course is for the student to understand the importance of scientific support for decision-making in the modern enterprise/organization and to provide them with the basic tools for data management and techniques for solving modern business problems that will lead them to documented decision-making, support, and presentation of business decisions. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to: - Understand the basic principles of decision-making in modern businesses. - Understand the role of the engineer in modern management systems and in decision-making in general. - Understand the importance of data and its processing in supporting decision-making. - Use Excel spreadsheet software for processing business data and solving modern business problems that concern all business processes, such as: o Lending and investment evaluation o What-If scenarios and Goal Seek problems o Linear programming problems (Resource allocation problems, production scheduling, transportation and distribution, job assignment and matching, etc.) o Project management problems (CPM/PERT).
