Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to: develop finite element models of structural components of naval structures. understand the requirements of regulations and apply the methodology for simulating the behavior of ships under environmental loads. understand the assumptions and limitations of finite element models and related simulations. select the most appropriate methods for simulating the behavior of marine structures with finite elements. evaluate analyses and simulations of the structural behavior of structures with finite elements.
