The course focuses on linear and integer programming, with applications in engineering problems, as well as on other decision analysis tools. Its contents are as follows: • Introduction to Operational Research • Linear Programming: Theory and applications • Linear Programming: Graphical method • Linear Programming: The Simplex method • Linear Programming; Sensitivity analysis and duality • Transportation and Assignment Problems • Integer Programming • Goal and Multiobjective programming • Network Problems • Location Allocation Problems • Dynamic Programming • Queueing Theory. • Introduction to Non-linear programming.

Learning Outcomes : Upon successful completion of the course, the student develops skills and is able to: • Understand, analyze, and address engineering problems related to decision-making. • Recognize the necessary quantitative tools required in each decision-making problem. • Use different optimization and decision-making tools. • Formulate the mathematical formulation of optimization problems. • Know the theoretical background of basic methods and tools of operations research. • Solve linear programming problems and other optimization problems using a computer.
