Learning Outcomes : Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to: understand the basic methods of drilling-blasting and the usual types of blasting designs; analyze the characteristics of explosives and initiation means and the conditions for their application in the blasting design; analyze and select the geometric design characteristics of blasting; design and organize the drilling and blasting phases; evaluate the selection of the optimal method in relation to the rock to be mined; evaluate the effects of blasting on the surrounding area.
