Learning Outcomes : Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to: • Have delved into special topics of petrology and natural materials, and have seen rare but essential samples firsthand. • Have learned how various analytical technologies are used for the exploration and study of natural materials (industrial minerals and deposits) and the environmental impacts during their exploitation. • Have seen the direct dependence of technology on the scientific knowledge of raw materials. • Have understood how engineers view technological materials. • Have seen technological applications in natural materials, as well as their processing methods. • Have heard about the use of innovative technologies in large constructions compatible with the environment in which they are made.
